Open Question: Microsofy Exchange Server setup error!?
Okay, so im kinda new to the whole windows server 2003 experience (Mac OS X server user here) and i am attempting to setup an Exchange server. I have Exchange 2003 installed on Windows Server 2k3 and every time that i try to add the Email service as a server role, towards the end of the installation i get an error, saying that the setup failed because it could not setup the authentication and to open the Exchange console to fix the problem. When the console is opened, i have no obvious fix at hand, so i just tried to re-do the setup by removing the service and then re adding it, but this time i tried using a different authentication form, i used "encrypted password file" instead of "active directory integrated" to no avail. Does anybody know what may be happening? I appreciate all replies. Right now im clearing off my old install of Server 2000 that is on a different partition just in case that is interfering with it. How do I turn on Java?
Turning Java on inside your internet browser depends on which browser you are using. In both Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox, it can be found in the Internet Options section.
Can I share my files? If so, how?
After uploading a file, you will have several options to the right of the file. One of them is "Share". This will move the file to your "My Shared Files" tab and a unique web link will be generated that you can share with anyone on the internet. All they have to do is open the link to download your shared file.
Why am I getting the error "Only 'basic' authentication is supported"?
This will typically happen when trying to upload a file(s) while behind an internet proxy. ADrive has no control over the proxy you may be using so to remedy the problem, the proxy will have to be disabled temporarily to upload a file(s).
My upload reached 100% but, the files are not showing in "My Files". What happened?
This can occur when using an internet connection that is behind an internet proxy. It can also occur with some antivirus and firewall programs that have built in proxies or browser redirect services such as McAfee Redirector Service. The solution is to disable these services and try the upload again. To do this in Windows: Go to Control Panel/Administrative Tools/Services. Then highlight the "McAfee Redirector" service and right click. Exercise the stop option in the resulting menu and also disable the automatic startup of that service in that same menu. (No reboot is required.)
Why haven't I received my email for ADrive? Example: account confirmation or forgot password email from support@adrive.com.

Are files with the same name case sensitive?
Files are case INsensitive. For example: ADrive will consider test.txt and TeSt.txt the same file even if they contain different data.

I am new to winamp and realtively new to web development in general.
In order to test that php is being parsed, I have created a file called testy.php containing the following:

I have made sure the apache service is started and have tried opening this file in firefox, both from directory c:\wamp\www\ and from c:\wamp\bin\apache\apache2.2.8\htdocs\ ... all to no avail.
Php appears to not be parsing...

I wonder, is the member directory service being replaced by Yahoo 360? -IF- so, then why hasn't there been the same broadcasting of that decision as was the case when the photo service was discontinued?
-IF- the member service is not being discontinued then when will it return? The service has been sporatic at best for the past two years or so, and has been completely unavailable for a few months now (as of 5/31/2008).
I have completely lost patience with Yahoo on this one. Will someone with some knowledge about this matter please, please make the status public?

Resolved Question: Bizarre CPU utilization problem?!?
Windows XP with service pack 3, but this problem has been happening since before service pack 2.
Occasionally (and this only happens while I'm on the corporate network, not when I have this laptop at home), the CPU for the foreground application will spike to 99%+. More often than not this is EXPLORER.EXE, and when I End Process on it via Task Manager, the CPU for the next foreground application also spikes.
Lately I've tried to End Process only on EXPLORER.EXE, then start it up again by clicking on File => New Task => EXPLORER.EXE, but up to 6-8 attempts in order it will do exactly the same thing, the CPU on that process will be pegged at 99%+ and I can only End Process and retry until it finally comes back up.
No spyware detected.
My laptop is in Active Directory network, and there are various group policies in effect (including automatic Windows updates via SUS).
Also there is packet sniffing software active, and there may be some kind of monitoring software. Any ideas

Voting Question: How to remove a service?
I'm trying to remove a service that is created for an installation packaged with Wise Package Studio 5.1. For some reason, the service will not remove itself after the uninstall until I reboot the computer. This package was designed to run on a server. The folders and directories are being removed successfully and the service is first stopped before the uninstall is performed. I don't see any dependencies or shared components that might be attached to the service but still cannot have it removed without a reboot. I'm trying to avoid the need for a reboot.
What's even more confusing is this package is a copy of an existing package with the directory locations and service names the only thing being different between the two. The original package removes it's service fine (without a reboot) but this second package - no cigar.
any suggestions?

Voting Question: GSM SIM Card?
I have a PDA issued from work. It has an AT&T (formerly Cingular) SIM card that is provisioned through our managed services provider. I hate the PDA we have and want to spend my own money to buy another type. Here's what I want to know:
1. I retrieve my work email by using the Active Sync application. We have Microsoft Exchange and Active Directory at work (whatever that means). Do I have to stick with a Windows platform based PDA?
I would love to buy an iPhone or BlackBerry device, but I suspect I would not be able to open MS documents on the iPhone and would not be able to get my work mail from the BB device.
Can anyone confirm this???

Resolved Question: Yahoo messenger won't open, what to do?
My PC has been reformated and installed with Windows XP service pack 2. I downloaded Yahoo Messenger 8 and installed it in my PC. No changes made during the installation and the whole installation came smoothly. When I tried to open my YM by clicking the Icon the YM didn't open.
I tried to go to the actual directory where the YM is installed and tried to open it from there, but with no success. I unistalled YM and downloaded a fresh copy of YM installer and it still won't open.
All PCs in our house have YM on them and working perfectly except with this one..
What should I do?

I've recently started a dog walking service business. I have bought a domain name and set up a reasonable website (www.wiganwalkies.co.uk for the curious ones), listed the site on all available free search engines and business directories, posted ads in local papers, posted flyers in shop windows, post offices, on tables of doctors and dentists and posted flyers to pretty much every house in my area but I don't seem to be getting anywhere. I also thought about getting a tshirt made with my logo and web address to wear when I walk my own dog so that should happen in a week or so.
I appreciate that with the current good weather, it may not be the best time to start such a business, but was wondering if there's anything else I can do that I haven't covered.

Ok, I had windows installed for years, and my hard drive is crammed with all of these stupid updates. Now that I have installed a brand NEW version of windows, in a separate directory than the first installation of windows....how can I delete all of that garbage????
Original windows was installed in c:\windows
New windows is installed in c:\New\Windows
But, I did have to update the new windows to service pak 2 to run my ipod.
Can I just delete the c:\windows directory altogether????

I have a Canon i350, I'm trying to print off my laptop which is connected through the network so it can print off the printer connected to our main computer.
I'm trying to print a document which needs to be printed off my laptop because my laptop has Vista and the main computer has XP and when I go to convert the document it always mongs the whole document up.
Whenever I go to print, it says that "Windows can not print due to a problem with the current printer setup". When I try to search for other printers, it immediately says "The Active Directory Domain Services is currently unavailable".
